Care homes, nursing homes and specialist support services across the UK use our software to keep every shift covered, 24 hours a day. RotaOne puts the right people on the rota and pays them accurately, and Musterd shows who is in the building when an alarm goes off.
Our customers include Somerset Care, one of the largest not-for-profit care companies in the UK, Kingsley Healthcare with its nursing, day and respite care, and Camino, which provides 24-hour care for adults with severe and enduring mental illness. Specialist dementia, learning disability and children’s residential services such as Fortava Healthcare, Desborough Care and Commonthread Group use it too.
Care never closes. Every shift needs enough people with the right skills, nights are run by smaller teams, and every hour worked, including overtime and travel between visits, has to be paid correctly.
Providers in England must deploy sufficient numbers of suitably qualified, competent, skilled and experienced staff, and CQC expects staffing levels and skill mix to be reviewed as people’s needs change. Gaps in cover or lapsed training show at inspection.
Skills for Care reports that domestic recruitment and retention remain difficult, and new overseas recruitment of care workers closed in July 2025. Shortfalls are often filled with agency staff at premium rates, which strains budgets.
Many residents cannot leave unaided, so homes plan progressive horizontal evacuation and personal emergency evacuation plans. Government fire safety guidance says there must be enough staff for a speedy evacuation, which is hardest at night.
Overtime, enhancements and holiday for irregular hours all depend on accurate records, and in home care, travel between visits generally counts as working time for the National Minimum Wage. Pay errors erode trust in a workforce that is hard to replace.
Build rotas around your residents and the skill mix each shift needs, give staff the live rota on their phones, and replace signing-in books with real clockings. Overtime, breaks, lateness, sickness and holiday sit in one place, across every home.
Set minimum staffing levels for nurses, senior carers and other key roles, and get under-staffing alerts when a shift falls short. Colour coding and filters by home, unit or individual make gaps easy to spot before they reach the floor.
Record each person’s skills and qualifications with expiry dates, from moving and handling to medication training and nurse registration, so you can see who is due a renewal and show a competent team.
Staff see their shifts, pick up unfilled shifts, request overtime and book leave in the self-service app, so gaps can be offered to your own team before you call an agency. Handbooks and policies are there 24/7.
Biometric and RFID devices, or GPS clocking in the app, record the hours actually worked. Payroll exports are pre-calculated from real-time data, and planned against actual reports show where overtime and extra cover are costing you.

In a fire, your night team needs to know at once who is in the building, who is responding and who is unaccounted for. Musterd gives them that picture live, on a phone or tablet, and keeps a record for your fire risk assessment reviews.
With fewer people on duty overnight, every pair of hands matters. Musterd shows which staff are on site, safe or unsafe in real time, and responder location tracking shows where your responders are as they move residents to safety.
Musterd flags disabled personnel who need assistance, so responders know who to reach first. Anyone still marked unsafe can be texted directly, and the roll call keeps working in the dark.
Post-event compliance reports record each drill and evacuation across all your homes, supporting regular reviews of your fire risk assessment and evacuation plans. Remote incident oversight lets a regional manager follow events live.
